March/April 2012 - Extension of sewages. We received inquiries from the water and waste water industry. Here our line splitters can be used. Regarding the position of the data cables it is necessary to use a combination of a star net and a line network. This connection is possible with our line splitters and you get a transparent network. Owing to the system net work with line splitters the data can flow faster and without any disturbance from each addressed office to the control station. These stations check e.g the height of a liquid level or the capacity of a pump. Applications for line splitters you will find in the line splitter booklet or please phone me. Best regards. JANUARY 2012 - V.24/RS232-INTERFACE. Industrial applications often uses V.24/RS232 interface because of durable used system/ auxiliary equipments. But the V.24/RS232 interface is often not available at commercial PC/Laptop and a USB/Serial adapter will be used. RS485/RS422 interfaces can be used with some USB/Serial adapters. In this case please consider that a USB 2.0 connection can supply max. 500mA (High power) or 100mA (Low power) at 5 V for the USB adapter only. A RS485 driver e.g. LTC1481 can supply a maximum driver current of 250mA, in order to reach the maximum RS485-Performance. Due to cost reason many USB/Serial adapters have no galvanic insulation and endanger thereby the expensive PC hardware. A discharge of disturbances by protection diodes is unusual. Hedin Tex interface converters RS232/RS485/20mA with galvanic insulation and protection from lighting and excess voltage in 19? rack, DIN rail and table top version. The asynchronous short haul modems guarantees an error free data transmission up to a distance of 21 kilometres by using the RS232 /V.24 - interface. The interface converter M-4 will be used for a RS484/RS422 to V.24/RS232 transmission. Please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or email if you have some questions - you are welcome. Best regards. Angelika Strixner, General Manager

November/December 2011. Secure C-bus connections. Physically the RS485 interface is well-known as safe transmission interface. Potential differences and interferences are compensated. However a disturbance at a bus participant can affect the whole RS485 bus. Because of a cable interruption it can happen that not only the cut off RS485 bus section will be missed but also the whole RS485 system is disturbed by a wire short-circuit or opened wire ends. A data communication with a LH-4VR is different. The RS485 is converted into the powerful M-1 modem interface without a change of the C-Bus communication parameters. The transmission distance between 2 bus participants is increased, whereby potential differences and interferences are ignored. The redundancy logic of the LH-4VR guarantees that a ring system can be realized, so that in case of a cable interruption the system continues working reliably. The cable interruption is signaled over a contact to the LH-VR concerned. In case of failure of a LH-4VR the equipment is bridged by the bypass function and the redundant communication ring remains closed. You will find an application example in our line splitter booklet on page 32. Do you have any questions, may I help you? Please don't hesitate to contact me. Best regards. Angelika Strixner, General Manager

| JUNE-JULY 2009: LINE SPLITTER LH-4V. In many projects our customers use line splitters. The LH-4V divide a V.24-/M-1 modem connection into a RS485/V.24 interface and a V.24- / M-1 modem interface. This, for example, enables several RS485 networks at some distance from each other to be connected to a common station via the 4-wire M-1 modem interface, or enables several adressed input devices distributed in different buildings with RS485/V.24 interfaces to be connected to a common network. The data flow direction supports any master/slave networks and multimaster networks (token passing). The line splitters are easy to install, equipment will without effort be put into operation. The LH-4V is working with a voltage of 24V DC. Do you need a voltage of 230V AC you can work with the table model LT-4V. Do you want more information about our line splitter? Can we help with the elaboration of your projects? Please let me know. With best regards, Angelika Strixner. General Manager. mobile: +49 175 2722277 |

APRIL-MAY 2009: RS485 NETWORK. In a sewage plant pumping stations are spatially arranged in teo lines to the main control center. The pumping stations are connected by Profibus DP communication lines with the control system. A multipoint connection has to be realized so that the pumping stations can be supervised and serviced by the central control system. The distance exceeds 1 000 m and the leased lines are of a bad quality. Here our line splitter is required. The LH-4V converts the RS485-interface into the efficient
M-1 current interface and transmits the data delay-free, galvanically isolated and without interference even with bad cables between the pumping stations. By malfunctions the bypass function of the line splitter protects the communication system while the failed unit is bridged and the other substations are available for further communication. Applications for line splitters you will find in the line splitter booklet. A large number of drawings and descriptions clearly shows the great variety of use. In case you need some more information please do not hesitate to contact us at any time. With best regards, Angelika Strixner. General Manager. mobile: +49 175 2722277 |

| December 12th, 2005: CHRISTMAS. Every day a new picture. The advent calendar was created in the beginning of the 20th century. Today it is unthinkable to live without it. However, you can follow its origin until the 19th century. The Protestants had the first ideas. During the month of December religious families put 24 pictures on the wall. The simple version was the so called ? chalk line calendar? with 24 lines on the wall. The children of those families were allowed to wipe off a line every day. Soon all advent calendars are open and then finally we have Christmas. I thank you very much for the pleasant cooperation and I wish you Merry Chrismas, all the best and success for 2006. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |

| October 21st 2005: LINE SPLITTERS. From Austria we got in September an inquiry for a point-to-point connection. We sent modems for test purpose and our new customer was very happy that he finally found a solution for his protracted problem. We got more inquiries from customers who want to use line splitters for distant reading of different fare distance stations. You can do line network as well as a star net. The significant interface functionality of our line splitters makes steliform, bus-like or mixed structuring possible. The line splitter does not impose any hardware limitations on the participants. To this topic you will find application examples in our line splitter booklet here in internet. I really would like to send you the booklet by mail, too. email: strixner@hedintex.de Phone: +49 431 243591 Telefax: +49 431 245720 Mobile: +49 175 27 222 77 I wish you a pleasant autumn and I am looking forward to hearing from you. | July 13tht 2005: REDUNDANT DATA RING SYSTEMS. Besides Denmark we got inquiries from Italy, Austria, from Switzerland and from the Czech Republic regarding applications with line splitters. They had some questions: How many line splitters can be put together in one line? Which distance is possible? Using our line splitters there is no limit for the whole distance if the distance between 2 line splitters is not longer than 21 km. The significant interface functionality makes steliform, bus-like or mixed structuring possible. Which protocol the modems work with? The communication data will be transferred code-transparently, the addressing of the terminals occurs from the software side so that many master/slave or token-passing protocols operate without limitation. No transmission rate configurations are required. What happens if a power failure occurs? The bypass function of the line splitter gives a high level of dependability. In case of a power failure the device is overridden thus preserving the communication along the line. You will immediately notice where the malfunction is situated. If you have also questions to our line splitters, please call or send an email. We are at your disposal and we are loooking forward to hearing from you. I wish you a pleasant summer time. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |

| May 20th 2005: REDUNDANT DATA RING SYSTEMS. With our line splitter LH-4VR you can realize a data ring system. The redundancy logic makes it possible to keep up the communication between all connected units even in case of a cable interruption. The cable interruption will be shown by a relay switch at the LH-4VR concerned. In case of failure of a LH-4VR the equipment is bridged by the BYPASS function and the redundant data ring keeps closed. In our line splitter booklet (as well as here in internet) you will find an application example on page 31. E.g. you will find these applications in municipal waste water plants. There pumpstations will be connected with the central control system ( e.g. Profibus DP as communication protocol). We really would like to send you our line splitter booklet. If you need some more information we are at your disposal. With best regards, Angelika Strixner, General Manager |

| October 2004: Large V.24/RS232 Networks. Prerequisite: In a summer house settlement the electric/water meters have to be read out remote. Because of the size of the settlement master control units must be placed in order to seize subareas. The addressable master control units transmit the data by RS232 to the main control station.
Realization: LT-1VLine splitter with V.24/RS232 interface.
Description: The M-Bus supports up to 250 substations and 1000m cable length, which is sufficient in many cases. Due to the expanded summer house settlement the cable lengths are exceeded and a formation of segments is necessary.
The line splitter LT-1V converts the V.24/RS232 into the efficient M-1 modem interface, without a change of the communication parameters of the bus participant. A transmission distance between 2 master control units of 4000m with 9600bps is possible, whereby potential differences and interferences are ignored. The individual segments can be built up to a network without additional communication changes.
In case of failure of a LT-1V, the equipment is bridged by the bypass function and the communication remain without the repeater function. |

| October 22nd, 2004: FAIR TIME. I visited the fairs NORD ELEKTRO 2004 in Hamburg and the InnoTrans 2004 in Berlin in September. There I met many customers and beside other things we talked about the distant reading of electric/water meters in a summer house settlement. Go to the "New" page for an application example. I will be on a business trip in Budapest at the end of October. After that I will go to the IFM 2004 in Dresden and then visit the SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2004 in Nuremberg at the end of November. Autumn is fair time! Have a good time in autumn. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |

| August 27th, 2004: LINE SPLITTERS. Now the holidays are nearly finished. I hope you had a pleasant time. Although there were vacations we received many orders, shipped big quantities of modems and got new interesting inquiries. From abroad we received among others a request for a systemnetwork between several airports. In this case they can use our line splitters. With line splitters you can reach stations with fare distances and you have the possibility to extend these applications at any time. On page 16 in our line splitter booklet you can find an example for a RS485-line-network with our line splitters LH-4V. Do you have questions to our products? Can I help you? Please don?t hesitate to contact me. I wish you a nice Indian summer. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| June 10th, 2004: NETWORK OF WIND PLANTS. For the network of wind plants our line splitters are also used. In our application all wind plants are connected with the line splitters LH-4V/LH-1V via the 4-wire current loop. All wind plants are equipped with addressable substations. For the RS232/RS485 participants the network seems to be a common bus by using line splitters. Would you like to test our line splitters without any charge? No problem. Just let us know. We like to support you and we are looking forward to receiving your inquiry. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| March 17th, 2004: MUNICIPAL UTILITIES e.g. WATER SUPPLY, WASTE WATER TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL. Very often big quantities of data have to be collected and checked in central stations. Owing to the system net work with line splitters the data can flow faster and without any disturbance from each addressed office to the control station. These stations check e.g the height of a liquid level or the capacity of a pump. Data transmission is code transparent and no transfer speed settings are necessary. Do you wish more information please do not hesitate to call us. We would like to help you. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| January 15th, 2004: SYSTEMS NETWORK OF SEWAGE WORKS. Some projects and applications, planned in the last year, will be concluded within the next weeks. This means for example systems network of sewage works. Regarding the position of the data cables it is necessary to use a combination of a star net and a line network. This connection is possible with our line splitters and you get a transparent network. You?ll find examples in our line splitter booklet or please phone me. I wish you a good start. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |

| December 15th, 2003: WHITE CHRISTMAS. I'm dreaming of a White Christmas, just like the once I used to know, where the treetops glisten and children listen, to hear sleigh bells in the snow. I am dreaming of a White Christmas, with every Christmas card I write, may your days be merry and bright, and may all your christmases be white. I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a successful, healthy and Happy New Year 2004. Many thanks for the excellent cooperation and the confidence shown. Best regards. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |

| October 15th, 2003: Autumn exhibition time. In September I visited the HUSUMwind 2003 in Husum - the world's largest exhibition for wind energy equipment and in October I went to the Elektrotechnik 2003 in Dortmund. Both fairs were very interesting. I talked about: Profibus, Modbus, C-Bus, Line Network, Star Net, Copper or Fibre Optic, Line Splitters for controlling or RS485 point-to-point-connections about large distances. For all these applications you can use the industrial modems of Hedin Tex. In November I will visit the IFM 2003 in Dresden ( a special exhibition for production technology, automation systems and quality assurance) and I will also go to the SPS/IPC/Drives 2003 (electrical automation) in Nuremberg. I am looking forward to both events. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |

| NEU: August 2003 Secure C-bus connections. In case of failure of a LH-4VR the equipment is bridged by the bypass function and the redundant communication ring remains closed: Protocol and speed independent for many field bus protocols; By-pass function; Simple installation; Short turn-around time |
| August 29th, 2003: Summer, Sun, Sand... I hope you had a nice summer time and beautiful holidays. In the North of Germany the summer seems to end and the first storm has arrived. We got an inquiry from Switzerland: Line network or redundant ring system. Both is possible. Now they check and test. Our LH-4VR line splitter can be used for the redundant ring system. An application example you find under the item: New. Please call us if you need some more information or if we can do anything else for you. We are at your disposal and looking forward to hearing from you. I wish you a nice month of September. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| May 26th, 2003: Line splitters for fibre optic network. We got new inquiries for applications for fibre optic networks. That means our line splitter LH-4VLWL can be used. If you wish we can equip the LH-4VLWL with a redundance extension. During a break in the fibre optic ring the communication remains with all partners. Another application requires the change from the TTY/20mA interface to fibre optic. Even in this case the line splitter LH-4VLWL can be used. Since the end of 2002 we equipped some units addionally with the TTY/20mA interface. The LH-4VLWL is also provided with the RS485/RS422/RS232 interface. The line splitter is operated with a supply voltage of 24V DC. Here in the internet in our line splitter booklet you will find more details about the fibre optic ring system, the RS485 bus with fibre optic, the fibre optic star net or the line net. Do you need more information? Do you want to test our modems without charge? So please ring up! I wish you a pleasant month of June and remain with best regards, Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| April 1st, 2003: ISH 2003. "You deliver quality and best service. Your modems are installed since 10 years without any problems". These sentences I heard from our customers on the ISH fair in Frankfort. I was very pleased. Among others one topic was the serial data transfer over great distances. Information about this you will find under point: New - or just ring me up. I wish you happy Easter. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| NEU February 2003: 12 kilometres RS 485. Physically the RS485 interface which is often used for ProfiBus and ModBus is conceived for long transmission distances up to 1200m but sometimes this distance is not sufficient for networking. In such cases a repeater must be used, to bridge the developed distances. However, the distance is extended again only by 1200m. If outside bus participants have to be connected to the RS485-Bus the solution with a repeater is often not sufficient. Here the short-haul modem H-5H helps reliably without special bus adjustments. The H-5H converts the RS485 interface into the powerful M-1 modem interface and transmits the data up to 12km with a transmission rate of 9600 Bit/s over 4wires (2 pairs). The following characteristics present the short-haul modem H-5H: Protocol and speed independent for many field bus protocols. Simple installation. Short turn-around time |
| February 5th 2003: Short Haul modem H-5H. The first month of the new year is over. Large quantities of our products are already delivered and we had the opportunity to welcome new pleased customers. Besides inquiries for line splitters we got applications where they have to bridge greater distances. This is where to use our short-haul modem H-5H. With a boudrate of 9.600 you can tranfer data up to 12 km. You can find an application example on our homepage under: New. Please let us know if you need some more information. We are looking forward to your phone call, e-mail or fax. I wish you all the best and success for 2003. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| December 18th: CHRISTMAS 2002. I had some business dates in Italy, e.g. Genoa, at the end of November. This year we delivered a big quantity of line splitters to Genoa. In Milan I visited the exhibitions BIAS 2002 and SICUREZZA 2002 both are automation fairs. In Genoa the sun was shining and the thermometer showed 18 degrees above. Then I flew to Nuremberg. There were 4 degrees above. On the fair SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2002 I met some of our customers. It was again very interesting. Time went by very fast and soon we will have Christmas. I wish you and your family a merry and contemplative Christmas, health and satisfaction. I thank you very much for the good cooperation during the year 2002 and wish you a peaceful turn of the year. Best regards. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| October 23rd: SECURITY 2002. The fair SECURITY 2002 in Essen is worldwide one of the most important meeting points of the security industry. I talked to many of our customers and also met new customers of the year 2002. There are many possibilities to work with our line splitters and modems. During the last weeks different projects were equipped with our short haul modem H-5H ( RS485 extension with a longer transfer range). Our customers need our modems e.g. in the fire alarm equipment, control and surveillance equipment, access control system and attendance data acquisition , video control system and in the controlling equipment in building management systems. My visit was again very informative and interesting. On the exhibitions SICUREZZA and BIAS 2002 in Milan in November I will meet again customers. After that I visit the SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2002 in Nuremberg. I wish you a pleasant November. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| July 10th, 2002: Fibre optic network. We got a new project for a fibre optic ring system. It is possible to work with our line splitter LH-4VLWL. A closed redundant ring system you can build with the line splitter LH-4VR. But this is a network with copper cable. From Helvetia we also received an inquiry for a fibre optic application. But they look for a point to point connection. Here the M-5LWL is required ( RS485). Some units are already shipped. From South America we got another inquiry. They also want to do a fibre optic network. In Taiwan they need short haul modems and in Italy there will be further tunnel applications with line splitters. I wish you a nice holiday and all people who have to stay at home and have to go to work. I wish successful days. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| May 31st, 2002: Tunnel network in Italy. We got an inquiry from Italy in March. They planned a project for a tunnel lighting system. We got the order and in June we will deliver 200 line splitters to our Italian customer. In Switzerland, country of tunnels, they also test line splitters for a project in Argentina. I wish you a pleasant and sunny month of June. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |

| NEW April 2002: RS486 Fibre optic network. The RS485 as a standard interface for different communication protocols is often used on copper wires for data communication over long distances or for bus communications. At critical applications in environments with strong interferences (power stations, production enterprises) the copper wires can be transferred by a converter to fibre optic cable. The fibre optic lines prevent communication problems on the distance, are tap-proofed, insensitive to potential differences and other outside effects between buildings. There is also no overvoltage protection necessary. However if a fibre optic bus connection is needed for RS485 clients with copper links, many converters are necessary. To simplify this a device with 2 fibre links and a copper interface is needed -- the line splitter LT-4VLWL. For a RS485 client which is connected by a line splitter to a fibre network it looks like a connection to copper wire network. Because of the protocol no modifications are to be made opposite to a copper wire bus. |
| April 9th, 2002: Access control systems by fibre optic network. From Switzerland we got an inquiry about 18 short-haul modems M-5LWL, that is the interface RS485. With the line splitters LT-4VLWL/LH-4VLWL you can integrate without any problems many different stations with copper wires into an existing fibre optic network. The line splitters have 2 multimode and 1 serial interface. For all clients the glass fibre network appears over the line splitter hook-up as a common bus. It depends on the requirement whether you use the interface RS232/RS422 or RS485. Do you want more information? May we assist? Please ring up. We like to be involved. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| March 22nd, 2002: Line splitters for Hungary and Italy. There are more applications for line splitters. This week we got an inquiry from Hungary and we sent line splitters for test purposes to Italy. The tests were successful. Next week I will be in Italy and will inform myself directly. It is very exciting whether we will soon ship a big quantity of line splitters. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| Feb 22nd, 2002: BUDAPEST Magyarregula 2002. It was my first visit on a fair in Hungary and I liked it very much. Beside many interesting discussions on the Magyarregula 2002 about serial datacommunication with line splitters I also had some time to make sightseeing in Budapest. I was really fascinated by the different architecture ot the buildings. Especially during night it is a very nice view to the Buda Castle Palace, the Parliament, the Chain Bridge, the Gresham-Palace and the Citadel. I am really keen on knowing when we will deliver the next modems to Hungary. Viszontlátásra! Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| Feb 11th, 2002: Extension of sewages. We received inquiries from the water and waste water industry. Here our line splitters can be used. | Jan 8th: January 2002. The New Year has started. The 1st inquiry came from Vienna, the 1st order we got from Nürnberg. ''Is it possible to extend the RS422 interface by further 4 km?", this was the next question. A safe solution for this is the conversion of the RS422/RS485 interface to the M-1 modem interface (4-wire). Modems for test purpose were shipped at the same day and I think our customer will be pleased. I wish you a good start. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |

| Dec 5th: SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2001. On the SPS/IPC/DRIVES in Nürnberg national and international exhibitors presented their solutions for the automation system. They offered components as well as the complete application for the system. I was a visitor and it was very interesting for me. Many of our customers were exhibitors and they were very pleased with the result. With our industrial modems for a safe serial data transmission we are involved in many solutions for the automation system. I heared many compliments about the simple handling of our modems, the safety of the bypass function and also about our qualified and fast service. I wish you a pleasant Advent season. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |

| Nov 16th, 2001: Milano - Arezzo - Vicenza. Many people go to Tuscany to spend their holidays there. I visited customers in the North of Italy and in Tuscany. It was wonderful to go by train through this gorgeous landscape. In Sicily a railway-tunnel-application for a safety-light-system will be finished soon with line splitters. Our customers think of further applications with line splitters also in connection with fibre optic and redundant ring systems. Cordiali saluti. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| Oct 10th, 2001: Düsseldorf and Brno. To my regret the Interkama 01 in Düsseldorf (Germany) and the MSV 01 in Brno (Czechoslovakian Republic) took place at the same time. Many exhibitors and visitors at both fairs were sorry about that. I visited the Interkama and the MSV and that was a good decision. On both fairs I met customers and got to know new companies. Within the next time they plan to test our line splitters. One company in the Czechoslovakian Republic already tested the line splitter LH-1V with good result. They plan to install it in future. I hope you will spend the autumn in good health. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |

| Oct 1st, 2001: HEDIN TEX INFORMATION AT THE BEGINNING OF AUTUMN. * Line Splitters worldwide. * Places where to install. * Application examples. Dear Sir/Madam, during the last weeks we delivered a big quantity of Line Splitters worldwide. For one reason there was the safety of data communication according to the BYPASS-FUNCTION very important , and in other cases several networks at some distance from each other had to be connected to a common station. Here the Line Splitter LT-4V/LH-4V was installed. It has 3 interfaces which can be regulated indepently from each other. In each case 2 ports can be configurated as RS232 interface or M-1 Modem interface. The 3. port can be adjusted to RS232 or RS485 interface. The Line Splitters support any Master/Slave and Multimaster networks. Abroad Line Splitters were installed for example: Austria: for data communication of a park-ride-system, for a data system network to be used in sewage works. Austria + Italy: for a railway tunnel application for a safety-light-system. Hungary: for controlling of band conveyor. Australia: for data communication on rollingstock equipment. Egypt: for data communication within a cement factory. Malaysia: for data communication within an airport. Also in Belgium, Denmark, in the Netherlands, in France, Great Britain, Ireland, Israel, Poland , Portugal, Czech-Republic, Spain, in Switzerland and in Saudi Arabia our Customers installed Line Splitters. Line Splitters can be used in various areas: in water- and waste water plants, in alarm and surveillance systems, for building automation systems, with HVAC-systems as well as with time registration-, passage control- and communications systems. Application examples you find in the Line Splitter booklet on our CD-ROM and here on internet. If you have any questions or if we can support you so please ring up. We wish you a wonderful autumn. Yours, Hedin Tex GmbH |
| July 31st: Summer 2001. It is summer in the North of Germany and nearly all our foreign business friends have summer, too. But also in summer and holiday time our customers plan their projects for the 2. half of 2001. We have new applications for water and waste water plants. The line splitters are used for controlling and receiving data from great distance stations. So we received for example an inquiry from Dubai. You will find more information in our line splitter booklet and under item Line Splitters, or please call me. I wish you a pleasant August. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |

| May 28th, 2001: Visit to Italy. I flew to Milan on May 23,2001 and was accompanied by several football fans who were rewarded for their long trip. I didn't intend to watch the football game but I visited the fair INTEL 2001. And I was also rewarded. The conversations with our Italian customers were very interesting and it was worth seeing the INTEL. These customers use our modems for tunnel applications. This year many of our line splitters are installed in Italy. Everything works well and our customers are very pleased. After a relaxing day at the Lago Maggiore I flew home and I am looking forward to my next visit in Italy. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| April 28th: HANNOVER FAIR 2001. Grey sky, rain, no sign of spring - but when I visited the Hannover Fair I forgot the bad weather. I had many interesting exchanges of ideas with our customers. - Using Hedin Tex line splitters then you know what you have. - Using Hedin Tex line splitters an extension is possible at any time. - Your modems are running for years without any problems. Of course, I liked these statements of our customers. First priority for me is the direct personal conversation. So you are able to answer many questions immediately. Perhaps we have the chance to talk together the next time. I am looking forward to meeting you and I wish all of us sunny days in springtime. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| Feb 20th, 2001: Line splitters for Vienna and Arezzo. Already in last October we received interesting inquiries from Austria and Italy. After visiting the Austrian company and after some test runs in Vienna a car park information system will now be equipped with our line splitters. The units are already on their way. In Italy our line splitters will be used in 3 railway tunnels for a safety-light system. For this project we have already shipped 111 line splitters. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| Jan 22nd, 2001: Tour of Austria. On the way from Linz to Graz I drove through several tunnels for which exist - like in Italy - applications for our line splitters. It was very interesting to see these plans in Graz. After that I continued my trip and went to Vienna to other dates. Here they plan a project with our modems which may be realized at the end of March. They suggested me to come again in March because Vienna must be very pretty in springtime. So far - Servus. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |

| Dec 14th, 2000: Hedin Tex information at the end of the year. 1. Good reasons to use line splitters 2. We deliver world-wide at a high service level 3. Season's greetings. Ladies and gentlemen, since 15 years we deliver industrial modems for serial data communication - short haul modems, interface converters and line splitters. Now we would like to inform you especially about our line splitters. Hedin Tex line splitters make it possible to connect several stations to a central computer. After each line splitter the maximum transmission distance is again available. This way you reach terminals even at a far distance and, as well, these applikations can be expanded every time. The bypass function of the line splitter gives a high level of dependability. In case of a power failure the device is over-rided, thus preserving the communication along the line. You will immediately notice where a malfunction is at hand. As line splitters are used for surveillance purpose, prompt delivery and excellent service are of utmost importance. Our line splitters are reliable and easy in handling. Data transmission is code transparent and no transfer speed settings are necessary at installation. Applications with line splitters are found in water- and waste water plants, in alarm und surveillance systems, for building automation systems, with HVAC-systems as well as with time registration-, passage control- and communications systems. Most of our customers are found among system suppliers, engineering consultants and others active in the fields mentioned above. We have chosen 3 application examples to present at our web-site. World-wide delivery at a high service level means to us that our support is available around the clock, free of charge, of course, and when necessary at the place where needed. Therefore you find datasheets and installation manuals in different languages at - http://www.hedintex.se. From here you can also download your own line splitter booklet with further examples of applications as well as a product overview. This information you can also find at our product CD. Besides we are always available, at all times, by phone +46 707 167 385. In this way we like to bring forth our Season's greetings. We wish you a Happy New Year and a prosperous year 2001. We also like to thank our customers for placing confidence in us and for the ever present excellent cooperation. Yours, Hedin Tex GmbH |

I wish you all a lot of fun with the Olympic Games. Angelika Strixner, General Manager |
| NEW June 2000: REDUNDANTER PROFIBUS. How important the water is, one notices only if it is missing. Public utilities and other services optimize more and more their system processes and safety standards, so that no water shortage meets us. In the way of the connecting the pumping stations to a network the security of the communication ways is likewise an important factor. During communication line interruption it may not come to an impairment of the watersupply. If 2 ways are connected to the communication units the security increases substantially, and it does not come to an impairment. The line splitter LH-4VR provides each Profibus unit with these 2 communcications ways. All Profibus units are connected by the M-1 modem interface system in a ring. The data flow direction within the ring system is handled by the LH-4VR, so that the all Profibus units do not notice this structure of ring at all. Because of the protocol- and code independent the line splitters are usable also for many other bus systems based of the interfaces RS232, RS485 and RS422. (RProfi.gif) |

| Feb 2000: New applications with line splitters. The well-tried method using line splitters in system design is extended by a novelty. Additional to bus- and star topologies now redundant data rings can be managed by the new line splitter LH-4VR. This function makes it possible to keep up the communication between all connected units even if the main line is broken. A broken redundant line can be controlled via a relay powered switching contact. The redundancy card can be set into the new line splitter LH-4VE as well as into the LH-4VLWL, the fiber optic counterpart. Inside the LH-4VE an RS422 interface is available additional to the existing galvanically insulated interfaces RS232 and RS485. This extension supports more connection applications in system design than before. Together with the redundancy function the LH-4VLWL supports the integration of copper-based devices into a redundancy fiber optic net. |

| Feb 11th, 2000: The planning started in November in Austria ... after completion we now deliver line splitters for a data system network to be used in the sewage works in Graz, Austria. Due to the topology of existing datalines a combination of star- and linedistribution was necessary. This is managed with our line splitters, enabling a network independent of protocol. | Sept 1999: New holder. Simultanously the DIN rail houses will have an added feature. A small square holder at the back plane of the box prevents, together with the existing tab washer, unwanted deinstallation from the rail. The new design is of course fully campatible with the previous one. |
| Sept 1999: New assembly fixture. As of september 1999 our products for rail mounting (H-...; LH-...) utilizes a new assembly fixture. The fixture's mechanical features have been optimized in collaboration with our customers, to reach a maximum of functionality. 1.The retainment for the assembly fixture has been widened, thus providing a more stable support. 2.The screw terminals are improved. Cabling is made easier by using vein-end-sleeves. Also, all connections can now be made from left. These new features require new installation manuals. |

| April 6th, 1999: LINE SPLITTER APPLICATIONS. In this booklet you will find several examples of network-applications with line splitters. A large number of drawings and descriptions clearly shows the great variety of uses. The line splitter application-booklet is available in English free of charge as a PDF-file (201KB). A printed version is also available, however only in German, at your request. |
